Yarn Bombing!

So the building we live in is verrry old, which is one of the main reasons I love it, buT it has a few minor splits and cracks here and there. The biggest thing that catches my attention every time is this one crack in the hardwood floors! I heard about Yarn Bombing a few years ago and thought it was super cute, so I'm thinking of adopting it into my studio <3 I need to freshen up my yarn collection with some fun colors first :)

Occupy Philadelphia!

A couple of pictures from the beginnings of occupying Philadelphia at City Hall today. They have a pretty nice set up in the "square" with a family zone, food area, tech station, a few drum circles, and tents everywhere (of course). Not sure how long it will last, but Cheers to you guys :) and good luck tonight... it gets cold!!

We were literally just standing in front of City Hall when we started to hear the police sirens and chants followed by a huge crowd of protesters! Then they proceeded to flood the area we were standing in, so we took advantage of the opportunity to explore the area after everyone got settled in. Probably heading back tomorrow for more pictures!

The things I'm Loving <3 : The exposed brick, hardwood floors, arched ceilings with wooden beams, the iron gate that covers the balcony doors, the wooden ladder leading to the loft space, the tiled walls and floors in the bathroom, and last but not least the Amazing two-toned imperial gas stove and tin cabinets!!!

The things I'm noT loving </3 : The neutral shaded walls, the obnoxious AC unit, and the limited lighting...

So, in due time, I will have this place livened up with color, furniture, ample lighting, and beautiful wall art!

Oh, and this is where we keep our luggage... lol.

 

Four Corners

Here are some pictures from this evening from the rooftop of my building :) The air is perfect with a slight breeze, and the fresh, crisp, autumn chill is in full effect!

Here is the traditional balcony view I've posted before. Notice the colored lights!! They change every night, it's so fun!

That well lit up building to the far right is nuts also! It has crazy light patterns that move in a specific rhythms. Sometimes you can see the reflection of the lights on the two building from the first picture.

Goodnight for now :) Tomorrow I am going to update with some of the "before" pictures of the apartment. Some really major and fuN projects are going to take place asap to add some life into my neutral little studio!
