Dinner Ideas

The other night I needed some inspiration to get dinner together, so, I decided to pick one ingredient and figure out dishes around it! Iron Chef style ;)

Secret Ingredient: Basil!

First was the tomato/basil pizza made on tortillas with mozzarella cheese, a little bit of salt/pepper, and olive oil. I baked it first for about 10mins @ 350degrees, and then tossed it into the broiler for a toasty finish :)

Then for cocktails I was inspired by a Basil Lemonade drink I had the other night at a local restaurant.  In a martini shaker I put about 5 large basil leaves, filled with ice, then half with vodka, and added the juice from one lemon. *shake vigorously* Pour into pint glass and the top off with sparkling water! So easy and so delicious! (next time I'll try adding some honey into the mix to sweeten things up)

Enjoy!!

aaaannnd I'm Back!!

No internet and a flip flop-y work schedule have left me completely out of touch with my online life! I'll be on here and there, but hopefully by January 1st we will have steady internet connection and I'll be more pro-active in my personal life :)

So, there's 10 days left until Christmas!! I'm very excited <3
Here are a few pictures of what the holidays are looking like in my studio....

Here is a picture of the Rittenhouse Square all lit up!

Our original Christmas tree was fake and super tiny, so we decided to upgrade to a mini real one we bought from Whole Foods; only $20!! I love it so much, even though it isn't as fragrant and I had hoped..

To the left are a few ornaments I made that were inspired by the ones on the right, which I found while skimming threw a West Elm magazine!

I hope everyone has a fantastic holiday season!! We're making our stockings tomorrow, so that will be soon to follow :)
